Remote Social Media Specialist - Freelance

Our client, a digital media company and an award-winning news leader, is looking for a freelance Social Media Specialist to support their team for ~12 weeks of work (40 hours / week) with the possibility to extend.

**Please note that this role is currently remote but going into the client's office in Manhattan is an option if you would like to do so.**

The Social Media Specialist will:

• Develop and monitor 15-20 live campaigns at one time
• Optimize campaigns to drive traffic back to the client's website
• Help to determine which campaigns should be run on which platforms
• Launch campaigns on various social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linkedin
• Take proposed copy and imagery through the review process until you receive approval to go live
• Help to craft headlines, short form copy and images for client approval for branded content (articles, blog posts, etc.)
• Report on campaign performance, including pulling metrics from each platform a campaign is run on and presenting the results to the Performance team on a weekly debrief
• Use the brand's current tone of voice to inform your creative process

The ideal Social Media Specialist must:

• A background in news, media, publishing or agency is preferred
• Be comfortable receiving feedback and implementing changes as needed
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, Google docs and Outlook is required
• Experience with Hootsuite, Dash Hudson and Asana is strongly preferred
• Have at least 2-3 years of social media management experience, with proficiency working on Meta platforms, Twitter, Linkedin, YouTube and TikTok
• Be comfortable working on tight deadlines with limited hand-holding
• Be responsive when working on this project and stay in communication with the team regarding deadlines, revisions, etc.
• Be able to synthesize internal feedback to produce nothing less than high-quality work for all deliverables
• Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and handling competing priorities
