Office of Information Services

The Business Alignment and IT Strategy (BAITS) pillar operates at the intersection of business and IT. This team works to ensure that the Office of Information Technology is fulfilling its mission to “Consistently deliver reliable, innovative and high-quality business focused results”.

The BAITS pillar consists of four units including the Business Relationship Management Office, Project Management Office, Vendor Management Office and Budget Management.

What You’ll Do

The Office of Information Services (OIS), is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Budget Analyst Supervisor to lead a team responsible for the monitoring and coordination of budget activities for OIS. With a budget of over $250,000,000, this role is mission critical to managing budget allocations and adjustments in response to changes in the business environment.

Essential responsibilities include:

  • Preparing clear, concise reports to communicate trends and projections in expenditure
  • Identifying lapsed funds
  • Reconciling purchase orders and invoices
  • Serving as an advisor to the OIS Executive Leadership Team, including the CIO, on budget related matters.
  • Monitoring purchase orders to reduce encumbrances where appropriate
  • Forecasting increases and decreases in cost

Expectations

  • Management of the OIS Budget
  • Partner with the JFS program area in the development of IT solutions to meet their needs
  • Manage requests for staff augmentation
  • Lead preparations for the biennial budget for OIS
  • Ability to lead and supervise staff
  • Leads preparation for fiscal year end and beginning
Qualifications


The ideal candidate must have and identify the following in their application:

Option 1:

  • AND 24 months experience in fiscal management & control involving use of statistical/quantitative analysis (e.g., probability statistics, linear regression, multiple variable regression, computer assisted regression analysis models, trend analysis, forecasting cost benefits analysis) to formulate, project, adjust & monitor allocations.
  • Completion of graduate core coursework in public finance, public administration OR business administration

OR Option 2:

  • 12 mos. experience as Senior Budget Analyst, 63262.

OR Option 3:

  • The equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Pay Information

This position is in the State of Ohio’s E1 Pay Schedule, Pay Range 14. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $35.74 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
