This position sells the organization's products in a specified region or major geographical area. This position sells the Company's products and services using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying the products/services to their needs resulting in revenue generation. In addition, the position provides input and participates in the marketing, market planning, and technical development of products and services.


Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring, analyzing, and communicating sales data, via contact management software, to contribute to product/service planning.
  • Making regular sales calls to develop relationships and follow up on leads
  • Meeting established sales quotas and revenue goals.
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations and close sales in a professional and effective manner by:
  • Doing market research to determine customer needs and providing information to other staff
  • Continuously educating brokers and customers on current products.
  • Researching and developing lists of potential customers
  • Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers:
  • Following up on sales leads and developing leads
  • Researching, developing and maintaining long and short range sales and marketing plans
  • Developing sales and marketing proposals for customers
  • Establishing and maintaining industry contacts that lead to sale
  • Participate in sales forecasting and planning in an effective manner by:
  • Working with customer service to establish a communication path with the customer to ensure sales opportunities for products and services.
  • Preparing periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
  • Monitoring and evaluating the activities and products of the competition
  • Making presentations to users
  • Research customer needs and develop application of products and services in an effective manner by:
  • Determining market strategies and goals for each product and service
  • Evaluating product and service marketability in terms of customers' needs
  • Obtaining and coordinating data and information from staff and brokers
  • Recommending or approving budget, expenditures, and appropriations for research and development work
  • Producing regular reports and final plans for Manager's approval
  • Maintaining up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets
  • Maintaining an up-to-date awareness of strategic plans and procedures to coordinate market plans


Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills.

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience and a demonstrated track record of accomplishments in sales and marketing in the food industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing or related field.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and good judgement and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.
