ROLE of the POSITION
UNLV Undergraduate Admissions is excited to invite applications for a Northern California Regional Recruiter to conduct outreach and recruitment activities for prospective undergraduate and transfer students to UNLV.

The Northern California Regional Recruiter, reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Regional & College Recruitment in the Office of Admissions, maintains a high level of internal and external public contact serving as a liaison between the Offices of Admissions and Financial Aid, various academic units, and other organizations within the University. The Regional Recruiter is responsible for outreach efforts and recruitment of prospective undergraduate and transfer students to the University. Outreach efforts include but are not limited to; traveling to and from or within assigned recruiting regions; visiting high school campuses, community colleges, and other affiliated events; planning, arranging and implementing a personal recruitment schedule; providing advisement to students and families regarding educational opportunities and options; planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs, special projects and events, and other initiatives geared to recruiting students within targeted populations in conjunction with event staff in the Office of Admissions; analyzing trends in student recruitment and retention programs; giving presentations for and in various settings such as parent nights in high schools, community colleges, and other public audiences; assisting with creating and distributing a range of resource and promotional materials designed for the recruitment and retention of students in targeted areas; reviewing individual applications and evaluating candidates for admission eligibility; troubleshooting problems with applications, and overseeing and/or coordinating & maintaining communications with applicants; keeping accurate records of recruiting activities and contacts; assisting with other student service projects and events as requested; working to achieve yearly assigned recruiting goals.

To reach their audience, the Northern California Regional Recruiter is responsible for planning and managing recruitment activities in assigned regions. The preferred candidate will have knowledge of or ability to learn admission requirements, academic requirements, financial aid, and state regulations; possess a working knowledge of or ability to learn the practices, procedures, and activities of all undergraduate programs and services at UNLV; Ability to research and presentation techniques and knowledge of individual and group behavior; Ability to follow national trends and use initiatives and resourcefulness to develop sophisticated recruitment strategies and communications; Overarching knowledge of admissions trends locally, regionally and nationally to inform strategies, presentations and all relevant functions. The recruiter assumes responsibilities for implementing a marketing plan to attract the demographic in their target areas set by the leadership in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The preferred candidate will be computer literate with the ability to conduct e-communication initiatives as well as the use of emerging enrollment technologies and possess the ability to multi-task and demonstrate strong interpersonal and public speaking skills. Recruiters stay abreast of changes that occur in their target populations and identify potential barriers to recruiting and admitting new students. They take the independent initiative to act in response to such barriers. The Regional Recruiter will be expected to travel within their targeted regions in their state, and to other out of state markets as assigned and work irregular hours and weekends as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university and 1-3 years of related experience, particularly in any customer service or public-facing type of position. Graduate Assistant positions can substitute for the professional experience if in a related area or similar assignments. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

Candidates must be currently located in or willing to relocate to the following location to apply:
  • Northern California - have a willingness and ability to visit the Greater San Francisco & Bay Area cities, Sacramento and surrounding cities.

Access to a personal vehicle that is able to be used for recruitment travel along with a valid driver’s license is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The preferred candidate will have an overarching knowledge of admissions trends locally/specific markets to which assigned regionally and nationally to inform strategies, presentations, and all relevant functions.
Bilingual in both written and spoken language.
Familiarity with Salesforce CRM and/or PeopleSoft SRS.
Familiarity with Google Suite.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite – specifically Excel.

SALARY RANGE
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
