THE TYPE OF CANDIDATE WE'RE LOOKING FOR Associate degree in recreational therapy, human services, or a related field 5+ years of experience in program administration in a social service agency 2+ years of database experience required Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Knowledge of OPWDD and ICF regulations preferred Experience or knowledge of the New York State Justice Center preferred If you can meet the requirements above, keep reading to find out what your day entails! YOUR DAY-TO-DAY AS A RECREATION COORDINATOR As a Recreation Coordinator with our human services nonprofit, your main focus is creating engaging programs that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of our participants. This involves researching and developing activity ideas, coordinating logistics, and ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are on hand. You have the opportunity to collaborate with participants, their families, and our team to design programs that meet their unique needs and preferences. Within the course of a typical day, you can expect to lead group activities, provide one-on-one support, and assist in implementing therapeutic interventions as needed. Additionally, you are also responsible for maintaining accurate documentation and records of program participation and progress. YOUR SCHEDULE This activities coordinator role requires a flexible schedule, as activities may take place during the day , evenings, and weekends.
