About The Portfolio Management Team


As a member of the Portfolio Management Team supporting one of our Funds or Separately Managed Accounts (SMA), you will assist the lead portfolio manager in managing assets across the multi-family, industrial, office, and retail sectors. You will also work in collaboration with other internal groups including acquisitions, asset management, research, and development as required.


DWS’s US Real Estate business has national presence with diverse asset classes. You may assist one or more Lead portfolio managers managing one or more funds or SMA’s.


Your Key Responsibilities:


  • Conduct fund and property level analyses, including but not limited to major leases and capital expenditures
  • Produce portfolio level strategic investment plan on an annual basis
  • Manage quarterly internal valuation and external appraisal process
  • Provide routine updates to senior professionals, investment committee and investors
  • Participate in the ongoing implementation and execution of the property level business plans by working closely with 15-20 asset managers to manage and optimize the existing asset portfolio
  • Provide oversight to a team of 7-10 analysts and associates that have dual reporting roles to portfolio and asset management
  • Track and evaluate property performance. Collaborate with asset managers, joint venture partners, third-party property managers and brokerage teams to adapt and optimize business plans.
  • Review and approve annual operating budgets in collaboration with asset managers


Your Skills & Experience:


  • Experience in all asset classes a plus
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in a team-oriented environment
  • Familiarity with industry benchmarks NPI and ODCE a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong industry relationships and connections
  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Argus

Expectations


It is DWS’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in one of our offices in accordance with the firm’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City and California is $150,000 to $205,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
