Position Overview:

Freddie Mac Multifamily Technology Division has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Tech Lead to lead the QA strategy and mature the Test Automation practice. This individual will work well with Product and Development staff throughout the product life cycle to drive and support the design, development, and implementation of Agile Automation testing practices for applications and microservices.

• Responsible for Defining QA strategy, approach, and execution in development projects.
• Direct the development of the QA strategy, methodology, discipline, and framework. Driving and improving the QA team in areas of automated testing and agile testing.
• Monitoring of all the QA activities, test results, leaked defects, root cause analysis and identifying areas of improvement. Implement steps required to improve the processes. Gather and present testing metrics, testing activities
• Establish governance to ensure that the development teams adhere to the principles, guidelines and standard methodologies of the QA strategy as defined.
• Ensure the accurate usage of available tools to gain the maximum benefit of the QA effort. This includes testing tools for functional, performance, automation, etc.
• Provide technical expertise in Test Automation, Testing Methodologies, Testing Processes, Tools, and Techniques across the teams.
• Focus on continuous QA improvements including usage of appropriate testing tools, test techniques, test automation.
• Provide leadership and technical expertise within Test Automation and Quality Assurance.
• Work with Development leads to develop and implement QA strategies to meet and exceed department and corporate quality goals.

• Drive the team to become more adaptable in quality assurance through test automation, and Continuous Testing practices
• Contribute to the enhancement of testing standards, tools and processes.
• Understand testing needs and processes, determine solutions and guide Test team in identifying the best solution. Translate broad strategies into specific action plans, applying existing resources and information to achieve strategic objectives and improve quality of delivery.
• The individual is expected to employ extensive professional expertise with experience in creating and implementing technical test solutions, processes and practices across large projects and programs.
• Lead technical transformation within the team moving from a manual testing approach to an automation approach
• Proactively contribute to the growth of a high performing testing and quality engineering team
• As a lead, the individual is expected to develop resolutions to complex problems that require frequent use of ingenuity and creativity. They must exert considerable latitude in resolving technical objectives of the assignment.

Qualifications:

• Engage with the project teams at deep level when there is a need and making use of the best available test techniques, strategies tools given scope of situation.
• Experience in leading a test team or a project team and acting as a mentor for less experienced test leads or project managers.
• Experience in understanding the architecture of complex applications.
• 3 + years of experience in leading or handling test automation delivery and/or Practice
• Highly technical individual with analytical and problem-solving skills, able to work effectively under tight deadlines.
• Validated knowledge of industry standard automation test tools like Selenium, Cypress Protractor etc
• BS in Computer Science or Information Technology, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience from which knowledge and skills may be obtained.
• About 7 of experience in a test management or program management capacity or role.
• Ability to analyze testing metrics and trends and recommend actions to address areas of concern.
• Experience with Cucumber (Gherkin) for BDD/collaboration and test automation purposes
• AWS knowledge required
• Expertise in working with DevOps implementation
• Ability to think through complex testing plans and derive solutions.
• Experienced in creating, maintaining and applying reusable test harnesses and driving efficiencies across the portfolio.
• Use technical expertise to identify, adopt and/or develop more effective strategies and provide thought leadership in testing and developing applications.
• Experience with successful Agile/SCRUM team delivering test automation
• 7 – 10 years of experience of developing Automation Test solutions and frameworks.
• Anchors defect prevention activities, implements the defect management plan. Conducts defect triage meetings. Apply broad technical knowledge and skills to analyze, develop and implement solutions for process improvements, trouble-shooting and new product development support in assigned area.
