Job Opening Summary
The quality improvement specialist - transplant provides direct support for the implementation and continuation of a comprehensive, interdisciplinary quality and patient safety improvement (PI) process at the department and service level that is data-driven and aligned with current transplant strategic directives. Support is provided throughout UF Shands' Transplant Center for quality and patient safety initiatives based on an understanding of analyses of results from internal and external quality and safety data, as well as assessments/evaluations of clinical outcomes. Support is also provided to survey readiness activities to obtain and maintain desired accreditations and meet regulatory requirements for transplantation.
Job Opening Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Knowledge of federal and Florida state regulations, of The Joint Commission standards, of UNOS standards/processes and of CMS transplant-related standards/processes are preferred.
- A strong clinical background and knowledge of quality and patient safety evaluation and improvement methodologies are required.
- Computer skills include proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- A minimum of one year of recent experience in a quality or performance improvement role in an acute care facility is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across functional lines required.
- Bachelor of Science in a health care-related field is required unless the candidate has an associate's degree and greater than 10 years of related experience and commitment to complete a bachelor's degree within three years; BSN preferred.
Shift hours: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday-Friday
