Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Supervisor, QA Process Improvement to work remotely within our footprint states: AK, CA, MT, OR, TX and/or WA.

The Process Improvement Program QA Supervisor is responsible for the quality of the audit results published in the dashboard and shared with Revenue Cycle Leadership.

This individual assists the Program Supervisor in the review of all Level 2 audit results in comparison to Level 1 audits and has sign off on the final audit report shared with QA Manager and QA Director. This individual summarizes the audit results and participates in discussions with Revenue Cycle leadership when presenting and reviewing the audit report. They offer recommendations and suggestions to improve audit scores through training, education and changes to Standard Operating Procedures, Job Aids, and workflows. The Process Improvement Program Supervisor may also assist in the development of training materials or facilitate trainings with Revenue Cycle teams to communicate audit findings and improvement opportunities. This individual works closely with the Revenue Cycle Department Leadership to closely monitor key areas for improvement. This individual may also be notified of new audit areas or areas of concern from the Revenue Cycle Leadership based on system upgrades or process changes. Ad hoc audits may be completed to examine the accuracy of system or process changes. This individual is highly focused on partnering with the Revenue Cycle Leadership to eliminate errors and improve account resolution time frames.

Coordinates with Program Supervisor on trainings, feedback, and observations from Level 1 and 2 audit results. Assists in Level 1 audit overflow question queue. Assist in Level 2 audit question queue. Process Improvement Program Supervisor supports the Strike Team to ensure quality audits. Process Improvement Program Supervisor works with QA Manager to review and evaluate the audit results in advance of publishing data and reporting to the Revenue Cycle Leadership. Responsible for audit results reporting and reporting dashboard.

The individual has extensive experience as a supervisor in back-office revenue cycle functions and experience in conducting quality assurance audits. This individual has exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills. With strong technical skills, this individual has command of large datasets and likes to develop insights based on data. The Process Improvement Program Supervisor must work in collaboration with the BI team to establish meaningful reporting metrics to analyze and summarize the audit findings. This individual is an excellent communicator, is a respected leader among peers and enjoys developing highly functional and collaborative teams.

  • Proven capability in back-office functions, including billing, follow-up, collections, underpayments and/or denials
  • Additional expertise in the areas of high-dollar and complex claims, understanding of reimbursement structures, denial tactics used by Payors and effective resolution strategies and associated timelines to reach resolution
  • Individual has extensive experience as a Supervisor in back-office revenue cycle functions and experience in conducting quality assurance audits.
  • Proven capability of managing large datasets and financial acumen.
  • Expert level command of Epic, workflow, job aids, policies and procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • 4 years experience working at or with large health systems
  • 4 yearsexperience working in Epic and managing a large team of resources
  • 4 years individual has extensive experience as a Supervisor in back-office revenue cycle functions
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent educ/experience
  • 4 yearsexperience conducting quality assurance audits
