Summary

Reporting to the San Jose Quality Manager, and working closely with the Supply Chain Manager and Shipping Team this position needs a person who has effective writing skills and is capable of observing different processes in the shipping department and creating written work instructions for those processes. The person needs to have good observational skills and the ability to turn the observations into written instructions. They must be capable of working both independently and within a cross functional team. The person needs to be focused, task oriented and have organizational skills to keep the project moving on time.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with a cross functional team made up of multiple functions from multiple sites.
• Records and documents work of self/others
• Responsible for writing clear and concise SOPs and work instructions upon observing on-going activities which currently do not have written documentation.
• Promotes a safe work environment. Participates in Environmental, Health and Safety programs. Addresses corrective actions whenever a hazard is identified. Notifies supervisor of all observed hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices
• Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
• Follows company procedures for areas of assigned responsibility.
• Ensure specific activities and milestones related to the project are being met on time and as expected.
• Notifies management upon recognition of factors that may affect project.
• Develops solutions to routine problems of limited scope.
• Works under general direction

Education/Requirements

• Strong problem identification and problem-solving abilities.
• Capable of writing clear and concise SOPs and work instructions.
• Knowledge of medical device regulations (FDA 21CFR80.820, ISO13485) helpful
• Results oriented with strong written and oral communications skills to participate in cross-functional teams.
• Ideal candidate will have 2-4 years’ experience in medical device industry.
• Effective organization and planning skills.
• Degree level qualification; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Effective goal setting skills.
