The Quality Team is a highly motivated team that enables business while finding the right balance between customer satisfaction, cost and risk. Our mission is to proactively assess, and mitigate risk to protect our customers and safeguard the business from quality disruptions. Responsibilities:
- Assesses customer and business impact from product quality issues, communicates issues, and drives supporting teams for issue resolution.
- Designs and/or specifies quality control sampling and testing procedures. Formulates quality control policies and procedures in conjunction with other engineering disciplines, operations, and suppliers and analyzes the economic impact of any quality control process proposed.
- Performs escape management procedures, conducts root cause analysis (RCA) on trends, customer concerns to ensure corrective and preventive actions are performed for design problems for internally produced products and processes to prevent recurrence.
- Identify quality risks, analyze risk assessments and assist in driving mitigation/closure plans.
- Qualifies components and works with suppliers to ensure repeatable robust processes are in place to maintain quality control and prevent future defects.
- Analyzes material failures to determine root cause, generates failure analysis reports, and works in conjunction with engineering and suppliers to implement corrective actions.
- Report on the QMS as implemented and engage site leadership regarding progress towards meeting quality objectives
- Responsible for developing, collecting, tracking, monitoring and briefing key performance indicators (KPI’s).
- Understand hardware architectures and manufacturing processes.
- Designs and installs quality control processes, procedures, tools, and statistical techniques.
- Act independently to operations as an internal advocate for customers in Quality related issues and decisions
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of quality management systems (like ISO, CMMI, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills verbal and written
- Quality and Continuous Improvement tools
- Strong engineering skills preferred.
- Risk management
- Auditing certification: (e.g. ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Certification)
- Project management methodologies
- Experience in applying process improvement models (e.g. Digital Six Sigma, Lean, etc.)
Basic Requirements
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Mechanical Engineering
- Strong analytical, facilitation, documentation, and communication skills required.
- Facilitating meetings and conducting presentations to senior level leadership members required.
