Summary/Objective:


The Project Engineer is responsible for all technical and engineering aspects of product delivery related to the Cooling/Comfort product line category. The person will plan, schedule, predict and manage technical tasks to ensure the product launches meet all specifications and timing commitments.


Duties and Responsibilities:


With light direction, the team members responsibilities and duties include:


  • Maintaining regular communication with the Global Product Management/Development Team to communicate product needs for the Americas region.
  • Working intimately with the Product marketer/sales team to validate opportunities in the market
  • Supporting internal and external technical training.
  • Assessing new products for Furrion in comparison to competitive product.
  • Assist as a technical resource to the warranty/customer service process.
  • Assistance in the design, development and application of new products.
  • Maintaining workflow process (New Product Development Process) between Hong Kong and China Engineering and USA office.
  • Maintenance and improvement of existing product by using engineering, technical and statistical skills
  • Communicating with Engineering staff in China and Hong Kong when required (sometimes outside of normal working hours).


Working Conditions:


The Project engineer will conduct most activity in the office and engineering lab space. Some work will need to be conducted at the customer’s setting/manufacturing location.


Qualifications:


  • MS/BS degree in Engineering
  • 2-5 years of experience in project delivery experience


Competencies:


  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple projects under tight deadlines and work independently.
  • Knowledge of HVAC and/or compressor systems preferred
  • Refrigeration, compressor or absorption refrigeration systems design experience strongly preferred
  • Strong thermodynamic and analytical skills preferred
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in hardware and software development
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office including MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong accountability and follow-through skills
  • Self-starter, motivated detail-oriented and results driven.
  • Solidworks 3D modelling flow and/or FEA analysis experience preferred
  • Excellent networking and communication skills
  • Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to management
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams


Supervisory Responsibility:


This position has no supervisory responsibilities


Physical Demands:


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


This position can involve sitting for various periods of time, and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching throughout the day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:


This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; additional working hrs. may be necessary for task completion and supporting other team members.


Travel:


This position will require some local travel monthly to visit customers. International travel (China/Hong Kong) may be necessary to meet with suppliers and align on project details. Travel will not exceed 10% of the role.


Preferred Education and Experience:


  • 2-5 years of experience in project delivery experience
  • MS/BS degree in Engineering
