Quality Assurance/Sqf Practitioner

The Quality Assurance SQF Practitioner is responsible for creation, implementation, documentation and enforcement of FDA, USDA, SQF and facility regulations.

This is a full-time position.

Essential Functions and Duties:
• Create, maintain and reassess prerequisite programs in regards to FS/QA, SQF and Regulatory requirements. Examples include Pest Control, Food Defense, Food Fraud, Customer Complaints, Recalls, CAPA, etc.
• Be the on-site SQF Practitioner
• Be the Lead for all 3rd party and Regulatory Audits/Inspections
• Coordinate checks and verifications to ensure food safety program is being followed, including pre-op inspection, operational monitoring, and post-op inspection documentation
• Resolve problems and issues with products and employees as they arise, including enforcing proper procedures, safety, and cleanliness of production employees
• Perform sampling for environmental testing and other required microbial testing.
• Works with FDA and USDA to present records per agency’s request
• Ensure completion of all QA duties.
• Communicate compliance and non-compliance of established and agreed standards and policies to all pertinent departments
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• B.S. (4 Year) majoring in Food Science, Biology or related degree.
• Have a working knowledge of a manufacturing facility, preferably a food processing facility with a minimum of 2 years experience.
• SQF certified with working knowledge of both 3rd party (SQF) and regulatory audits.
• HACCP Trained.
• PCQI Trained or ability to become trained.

Physical demands and Work Environment:
• Ability to stand and be on the production floor for the duration of the work day
• Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment
• Must have strong verbal and written English communication skills
• Must be willing to work in dual temperature environment (production space is refrigerated)
• Flexibility to rotate hours if needed.
