Quality Assurance Manager Jobs

Primary Job Function
This position is responsible for managing the Quality Assurance and R&D departments and working with the Sanitation Manager to ensure the production of a quality and safe product.
Essential Job Functions

• Evaluates, updates and improves food safety and quality programs and polices yearly and/or as needed.
• Assist Customer Service concerning customer complaints and leads the investigation on product quality and food safety related issues.
• Monitors and reviews lab testing results and HACCP related documents.
• Conducts investigations into non-conforming materials and products.
• Devise procedures to inspect and report quality issues.
• Reviews and updates nutritionals on labels using Genesis R&D Food Formulation & Labeling Software.
• Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data.
• Responsible for training and supervising of QA and Sanitation employees.
• Assist in trouble shooting quality and food safety related issues.
• Assure the reliability and consistency of production by checking processes and final product.
• Responsible for the supervision and recipe writing of new R&D projects.
• Manages, implements and monitors compliance to specifications and requirements relative to HACCP, SSOP, SOP, Food Safety, GMP, and Quality Management Programs
• Keep records of quality reports, statistical reviews and relevant documentation
• Manages the Internal Audit Program.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, FSSC, FDA quality system rules, regulations, including planning and implementation.
• Serves as the principal contact for external auditors, customer audits and regulatory agencies.
• Monitor all operations that affect food safety and quality.

Food Safety Responsibilities

• Takes appropriate action to ensure integrity of food safety programs.
• Food Defense team member
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Pre-requisite programs.
• Reinforces the use of GMP, SOP, and SSOP procedures throughout the facility.
• All employees are required to immediately report and assist in the elimination or control of any food safety issues they observe to their supervisor.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance- USDA, FDA, HACCP, GMO, and SSOP.
• Working knowledge of Genesis R&D Food Formulation & Labeling Software, or comparable software.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in quality control or quality assurance management in a food processing environment.
• BS Degree in Food Science, Engineering, Chemistry or related fields, or combination of experience and education.
• Holds and maintains HACCP and cGMP certifications,
• Working knowledge of AIB International Food Safety Program, FSSC 2022 or equivalent
• Excellent Communications skills.
• Excellent computer skills.

Physical Requirement

• Ability to occasionally lift 25-50Ibs
• Ability to stand and sit for prolong periods
• Ability to walk through production areas
