Quality Assurance Coordinator - San Leandro, Ca Milk Plant

The Supply Operations San Leandro Milk Plant, located in San Leandro, CA has an opening for a Quality Assurance Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Working knowledge of Global Food Safety Initiatives and FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act)
• Collect quality related information from plant floor operators ensuring compliance with quality standard operating procedures.
• Microbiological analysis; preparation and plating of samples.
• Perform plant floor duties including quality audit inspection record keeping, product sample collection and analysis, HACCP and FSMA updating, compliance, auditing and active participation in the 5S//Continuous Improvement program.
• Develop, implement, and rollout new quality programs (sanitary maintenance, SQF audit gap analysis) to meet Corporate quality standards for all US Plants.
• Deal with regulatory and plant personnel ensuring ongoing compliance with a focus on maintaining and improving relationships.
• Participate in regulatory audits, and perform acting QA Manager duties during QA Manager's absence.
• Responsible for plant HACCP and FSMA reporting to include data collection, procedure development and record keeping.

Qualifications

• Establish and maintain effective communication with internal and external customers.
• Energetic, self-motivated and the ability to manage multiple projects and work with multifunctional teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and technical writing skills required.
• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or related field.
• Excellent analytical judgment with confidence to act.
• Work hours may vary in order to accommodate the business needs of a 24 hour operation.
• Excellent PC skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint; ability to grasp additional business related applications.
• 5% travel required.
• Ability to motivate, lead and influence various levels of the organization.
• 3-5 years of experience in Quality Assurance and laboratory experience.
• Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills required.
• High degree of initiative and sense of urgency.
