Public Safety Dispatcher Jobs

The Irion County Sheriff's Office is now accepting applications, until position is filled, for a full-time dispatcher.

oApplicant must be at least 18 years old

oMust have a high school diploma or GED

oMust be able to work a variety of shifts to include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays and subject to on-call.

oTyping skills and computer literacy are required

oRequired to talk on radio, telephone, 9-1-1 emergency calls, etc.

oMust be a self-starter and be able to multi-task

oKeep legible written logs and documentation of telephone calls, radio calls, 9-1-1 calls, etc.

oBefore becoming employed must pass a psychological and physical exam, including a drug screening.

oApplicant must not have been convicted of a Class B offense or above within the last 10 years and no felony convictions.

oMust be able to obtain TCOLE Telecommunications Operator License within the first 12 months of employment.
