Job Description

Summary

Coordinates the credentialing and re-credentialing process of physicians and allied health professionals for submission to managed care insurance companies and other agencies. Provides technical and administrative support to the department. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to function with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle assignments independently and demonstrate analytical skills, human relations, problem solving and interpersonal contacts.
  • Skill and proficiency with Microsoft Office and databases.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with high level Associates within the hospital and in the community where tact, diplomacy and good judgment are essential.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for administrative support duties for the department.
  • Provides administrative and technical support to the provider credentialing and re-credentialing process.
  • Conducts primary source of verification for prospective and current providers.

Physical Requirements

  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Occasional travel to other facilities.
  • The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
