Warehouse And Transportation Manager

Salary starting from $100,000 per year based on skills and experience.

Purpose of the position

Responsible for overseeing all warehouse and transportation operations including shipping, receiving, material handling, inventory control and all site logistics activities

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Design and execution of warehouse organizations strategic vision
• Implementation of LSS principles throughout warehouse operations (5S, visual management, Kaizen, etc.)
• Further optimize inbound and outbound logistic processes, including international freight to meet organizational savings targets
• Direct staff to ensure that all logistics activities and equipment are operated safely and with security and train new workers in the organization's operating procedures and standards
• Provide material support to drive operations to exceed customer on-time delivery targets
• Assess and manage ongoing day-to-day work and processes together with key external and internal stakeholders to ensure the standards of service
• Develop, implement, and monitor all logistics/warehousing management systems and activities efficiently, including inbound/outbound logistics and factory-to-factory logistics
• Foster collaboration between all internal and external stakeholders
• Coach, guide and develop team members in setting targets and to manage performance efficiently and continuously improve key skills; keep them challenged, while emphasizing a learning orientation
• Drive safety focus surrounding all warehouse operations to every employee and foster proactive gains within safety

What you’ll need to succeed

Education:

• Lean Six Sigma certification
• APICS certification preferred
• Bachelor’s degree required in a related field

Experience:

• Import and export experience preferred
• Strong ERP experience (SAP, Infor LN)
• Previous experience partnering with multinational vendors
• Inventory control
• Managing multiple warehouse locations
