Job Description
What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated and organized Project Manager to join their Service Operations team. This role will own leading projects that move the service business forward. They will constantly be identifying opportunities to make the business more efficient while enhancing the customer experience.
The Service Operations team is in place to ensure our owners enjoy a seamless experience that is just as innovative as their driving experience. We focus on providing support to our field service teams by partnering with them and other internal departments to achieve the highest level of service for our owners.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the automotive industry and the understanding of the critical role that Service plays in ownership experience as well as brand loyalty. They will understand how our team’s work impacts other internal teams at Tesla, to ensure that our processes are aligned with Tesla’s success. They will have the capacity to work at high speed with a high-caliber team, an unwavering dedication to integrity, and a passion to build world-changing innovations.
What You’ll Do
  • Conduct ad hoc data analyses and deep dive reporting to find actionable insights
  • Build business cases in partnership with Finance to justify proposed initiatives and understand and track expected financial impact
  • Partner with Service Program team members to develop and prioritize systems requirements based on business need and forecasted impact, managing a clear high-level roadmap with respective sub-projects and target timelines.
  • Document and analyze Service business processes and workflows
  • Partner with Business Analytics team to develop a reporting suite that meets the needs of the business
  • Monitor, measure and provide feedback on process performance
  • Understand strategic goals and customer needs to influence business objectives
  • Identify and communicate risks and dependencies
  • Identify opportunities to innovate, enhance and improve the service business
  • Partner with training teams to educate business users responsible for managing and operating business processes as well as those impacted by any process changes
  • Employee/Customer Satisfaction, Revenue
  • Identify and track success Metrics for a project
  • Productivity Gains, Efficiency Gains, Mileage Reductions
  • Partner on document change needs as processes refine

What You’ll Bring
  • Experience with change-management methodologies and a proven track record of implementation
  • Demonstratable operational and cross-functional project management skills
  • Ability to positively influence others through strong collaborative and communicative skills
  • Data-inclined individual with advanced Excel proficiency
  • Ability to understand and communicate needs of all stakeholders including technical teams to ensure all needs are met
  • Experience in automotive business operations preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment and navigate through an ambiguous environment; enjoy challenges
  • Experience using Atlassian project management tools (Confluence, JIRA) and Microsoft Suite preferred
  • Results driven “get it done” personality; able to balance multiple projects as second nature

Physical Requirements

  • General Office – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading, primarily on a computer monitor.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
  • Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken and written word.
  • General office work involves sitting most of the time working on a computer but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
  • Occasional travel required for offsite meetings and events; normally less than 10% of the time.
