We are partnering with our client to assist with their search for a Program Operations Manager. Our client is an independent, national nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of children and families struggling with mental health and learning disorders. They work to deliver the highest standards of care, advance the science of the developing brain, and empower parents, professionals, and policymakers to support children when and where they need it most.
The Program Operations Manager will work in partnership with leadership and leverage expertise in operations strategy to monitor progress of priority projects and successfully plan, track, and report on significant program milestones, and support stakeholders regarding identification of program risks, opportunities, resourcing, and budgets. A successful candidate must have substantial operations management experience and the ability to multi-task in a high-energy environment.
The Program Operations Manager must have project management and program coordination training and experience. Experience in a scientific, research, and/or clinical environment is preferred. Global public health and/or international relations experience is preferred. This position will involve periodic international travel. This position provides the opportunity to engage with a broad range of clinicians, policy-makers, researchers, and community leaders in the global health environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with vendor identification and contract execution.
- Periodic travel is required to facilitate leadership activities relating to collaborations and partnerships, as well as supporting transfer of operations knowledge and practices in-country.
- Create, coordinate, and/or manage project timelines and plans, prepare internal team documents as required, and author reports and dashboards that provide updates on initiative progress.
- Serve as a cross-program interdepartmental and interinstitutional liaison for the program (i.e., finance, communications, human resources, legal).
- Support planning and logistics for the project, including assessments of feasibility and priority and escalate issues related to meeting project milestones to the Managing Director.
- Facilitate communication and information sharing components. Develop, prepare, and distribute communications, meeting minutes, presentations, and other materials as needed to ensure communication objectives are met.
- Coordinate requests for allocation of resources.
- Assist leadership in budget planning and review, as well as budget tracking and refinement in collaboration with sponsored programs operations staff.
- Collaborate with leadership in the conduct and planning of human resource operation (e.g., coordination paperwork related to the hiring processes, performance evaluations, visa applications, departmental meetings, travel budgets/planning).
Qualifications:
- Post-graduate education (Masters and above) preferred, particularly in the global health arena.
- Demonstrated strategic and critical thinking.
- Demonstrated operations management and organizational skills.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.
- Must display strong analytical, problem-solving, and operational support skills.
- Able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives.
- Awareness of clinical studies (e.g., clinical trials, systematic reviews, etc.), scientific research projects, including interdisciplinary team science processes.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., global health, behavioral sciences, etc.), with a minimum of 3 years of mid-level, operations, or project management experience.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written), systems thinking, and some understanding of financial and organizational management.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $96,650 - $115,000 annually. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.
