Job Description

Position Type: Full time exempt, 40 hours a week

Location: Hybrid; mostly remote, however, must be located in or near San Antonio, TX for in-person meetings or events

Salary Range: $40,000-45,000

Benefits: Eligible

Reports to: Executive Director


The Program Manager will plan and coordinate MACRI’s public programs, including MACRI Talks, Teacher Training Workshops, and the annual Symposium. They are responsible for the research, development, planning, scheduling, implementation, and evaluation of program activities that align with MACRI’s mission. This position occasionally works evenings and weekends.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain timely and accurate program statistics, and prepare dashboards and reports as needed
  • Maintain programs calendar, coordinate contractors, order supplies, set up/clean, and other administrative tasks
  • Track program attendance and develop assessment tools to improve programs and increase attendance;
  • Manage budgets for program activities;
  • Draft detailed program descriptions to allow for the development of marketing, communications, and other advancement materials;
  • Collaborate with the Development Manager to explore program grant funding opportunities, respond to eligible grant proposals, and ensure effective record-keeping relative to grant funds;
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • In collaboration with the Executive Director and other staff, build a calendar of diverse virtual and in-person programming;
  • Develop program marketing materials with Marketing & Communications Manager
  • Record, edit, and organize virtual program files;
  • Collect assets (photographs, videos, etc) for the programs and website;
  • Assess the possibilities of periodic COVID-safe in-person programmatic activities
  • Provide technical assistance for virtual and hybrid programs using the Restream platform;
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Manager to draft and schedule program-related email communications using the Mailchimp platform;
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Manager to create and implement a digital multimedia strategy for MACRI’s programs, including but not limited to social media campaigns, flyers, blog posts, articles, etc;
  • Assist in programs-related administrative needs: update the website, member database, mailing lists, etc;
  • Manage, develop, implement, and evaluate digital and on-site programming relating to Mexican American civil rights history;
  • Develop collaborative programming with partner organizations


Qualifications

  • Has access to technology to work remotely, including good internet access;
  • Strong commitment to equity and accessibility
  • Ability to handle multiple projects managing deadlines/budgets
  • At least 2-3 years experience in the arts & culture field;
  • Knowledge of Mexican American civil rights history is beneficial but not essential
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter);
  • Experience using social media platforms to schedule and deliver educational content
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving, and interpreting data skills;
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Experience with Facebook Live and YouTube Live
  • Can attend in-person meetings and events in San Antonio (up to once a week or as needed in accordance with COVID-safe policies);
  • Well-organized, attentive to details, and goal-oriented;
  • Familiarity with audience research and outreach, and/or more advanced experience producing digital content for audience‐building, marketing, and educational purposes is preferred
  • Proficiency with virtual studio platforms including Restream and Zoom
  • Strong professional interpersonal communication skills, written, oral, and over Zoom;
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or any combination of education, training, and experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job's essential functions.
