Title:IT Program Manager
Location:Schaumburg, IL (Remote or Hybrid (maximum 1day/week in office))
Duration: 1 Year (Possible Extension)
Min Pay Rate starts from $65/hr, W2
Must Haves:
- Certified Agile Coach, Scrum Master or PM
- Minimum 5 years experience leading projects and leading scrum teams
- Experience in Agile and Scaled Agile Framework
- Proven experience in using Agile project management tools such as Jira and Confluence
This position is for a Program Manager in the IT Program and Portfolio Management Office, supporting the Actionable Data Insights (ADI) Program. The goal of the ADI program is to enable access to data, analytics, and reporting for all Client business areas. The program manager will have the opportunity to interact with representatives of all business functions and guide the team to delivering strategic and ongoing business demands. This is a high visibility role and is an ideal opportunity for someone with excellent leadership, program management and communication skills.
Scope of Responsibilities / Expectations
- Provide for all project communication, action item management, risk identification and management from an execution standpoint.
- Manage schedule, program plans and roadmaps, working with vendors to ensure proper resource capacity to meet demand.
- Drive alignment of feature content across businesses, aligning with the strategic goals of each business and the company at large.
- Responsible for keeping the project data updated on a regular basis as well as providing input as needed for senior leadership review.
- Acquire business value for all deliverables by working closely with program team.
- Partner with the scrum masters to drive completion of sprint-level activities, identifying and removing roadblocks and negotiating dependencies across teams.
- Lead Scrum practices across teams, holding teams accountable to their commitments.
- Collaborate with IT leadership, business representatives, and project leads to drive ongoing and future data demands.
Desired Background/Knowledge/Skills
- Recognize and deal appropriately with confidential and sensitive information
- Experience using Agile, Scrum AND Waterfall methodologies on projects
- Strong written and oral communications skills, an eye for detail
- Strong aptitude to learn
- Self motivated and able to work independently
- PMP certification and/or other project management certification is preferred
- Ability to plan and organize work
- Proficient in basic Google Applications (Sheets, Docs, Slides) as well as Atlassian application (Jira and Confluence)
- Project management skills – ability to drive & lead meetings independently, create and execute project plans, proactively manage risks/issues, maintain compliance with company project management processes
- Analytical skills - ability to perceive and analyze problems, develop alternatives and recommend sound decisions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding, and rapidly changing environment
- Any previous Client work experience or experience in managing IT projects for a similar industry is preferable
- Communication skills - ability to drive productive conversations, independently maintain project documentation, drive follow-up on open actions.
- Strong collaboration & active listening skills
- People skills - a combination of skills including an ability to ask penetrating questions, detect unstated assumptions and resolve conflicts
- People skills to be able to work with different roles and personalities
- Very strong team player, able to foster teamwork and a positive working environment to the project team.
Basic Requirements
- At least 5-7 years experience with project management practices and methodologies.
- Experience with Atlassian Toolset (Jira & Confluence)
- Agile and DevOps experience required
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree from an accredited university.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to form valuable partnerships and working relationships with key stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
previous Client work experience or experience in managing IT projects for a similar industry- always helpful that have worked for Client or any IT experience is a huge plus
