The position is remote (candidates in Columbus, OH preferred) with travel based upon event locations.
About: Wish Upon a Wedding is a 501(c)3 non-profit that grants weddings and vow renewals to couples facing terminal illness or life altering health circumstances. We are seeking an organized, outgoing and empathetic wish coordinator to join our organization. Ideal candidates would possess excellent communication skills, tenacity and resourcefulness. The wish coordinator is a part - time hourly position with opportunity for growth. The ideal person has 5+ years of experience with a focus on non-profit and communications.
Wish Upon a Dress is our affordable, accessible, and inclusive wedding and formal gown retail shop located in Chicago, IL. A portion of proceeds are donated directly back to Wish Upon a Wedding.
Responsibilities:
- Research and secure wedding planners via wish granter database, Wedding Wire, Google, cold calling, etc.
- Attend wishes throughout the US
- Manage and report to the Board of Directors at Monthly Board Meetings
- Facilitate wish partnership deliverables
- Other responsibilities as request to aid in the wish granting process may include outreach, fundraising, event involvement, and other.
- Send contracts to upcoming vendors, establish, and maintain communication with vendors to explain processes and answer questions, and provide ongoing support.
- Weekly update meetings with Executive Director
- Maintain and track program expenses
- Maintain frequent communication with upcoming wish planners, including but not limited to, vendor and contract status, timeline, partnerships, logistics, ongoing support.
- Manage e ligibility determination for the organization.
- Manage the wish granting process from start to finish. Responsibilities include reviewing applications, interviewing couples, facilitating wish recipient contracts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum five years of relevant professional/postgraduate experience
- Nonprofit experience preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to philanthropy through volunteering, fundraising, and personal giving.
- Experience in medical or wedding/event related field preferred
- Great verbal and written communication skills
Attendance Expectations: Part Time (25-30 hours per week) dependent on wish schedule.
Compensation and Deductions: This position will be paid hourly at a rate of $18/hr, payable on a biweekly basis.
Bonuses and Paid Time Off: This role is a part-time hourly position and is not eligible for bonuses at this time.
