Basic Function:
We are looking for an early career program associate who will play a central role in helping us to develop our rapidly expanding portfolio of work at the intersection of philosophy and public debate. The individual should have an interest in the largest philosophical questions facing our society, and a strong organizational capacity to manage projects. This will be a part time and remote position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administrative support for program activities.
  • Helping to envision new ways for philosophy to contribute meaningfully to public debate.
  • Working with senior leadership to develop strategy and fundraising bids.
  • Developing broader leadership skills including helping to expand the Initiative’s range of supporters and advisors.
  • Interaction with editors and writers related to our publications and podcasts,
  • Overseeing implementation of important program activities, including key events based in DC and elsewhere.

Knowledge, Education and Experience:

  • Strong organizational skills, with emphasis on time-management, the ability to plan, organize and carry out multiple activities.
  • Previous experience developing strategic priorities and soliciting funding.
  • Bachelor’s degree (ideally majoring in philosophy, political science or related field, though other degrees will be considered). Graduate degrees preferred.
  • Strong skills in written communication, and, ideally, a previous publication record.
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to interact well with high-level supporters and advisors.
