Design Associate Jobs

Summary:
We are looking for a Design Associate to contribute to designing and building custom aircraft interiors for VIP’s and Heads of State. The Designer will support all aspects of the design development, elevation drawings, material and fixture specifications and sample library.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and present presentations including drawings, material boards, renderings, and conceptual work to clients.
• Collect and correct drawing redlines.
• Other duties as assigned.
• May develop and revise material and fixtures specifications.
• Travel to inspect products, attend trade shows and meet with clients, as required.
• Contribute to developing design concepts and ideas as a design team member through research, sketch, and theme boards.
• Help create functional and elegant interiors that bring our clients vision to life.
• Gain exposure to knowledge of project scope, budgets, processes, and deliverables.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to review drawings, architectural details, and material specifications.
• Works closely with senior design staff to create and revise floor plans, interior elevations, cross sections, and architectural details using AutoCAD 2D.
• Research product and manufactures to contribute to the selection of colors, finishes, and materials.

Salary Range: USD 47,670 – 88,530:
Summary of Education, Experience & Certification:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) with a minimum of two years related experience and/or training in architecture or interior design; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Aerospace background and aircraft interior industry experience is a plus but not required.
Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Proactively ask questions and expresses curiosity about the world of design, materials, and products as well as the industry at large.
• A self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaborate with team members throughout the design process.
• Intermediate experience with Photoshop, InDesign, and MS Office Suite skills is preferred.
• Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic knowledge and methodology of drafting interior elevations, cross sections, and detailing is required.
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and motivation to learn.
