Exciting Job Opportunity in Environmental Grant Management!
We are searching for a passionate and qualified individual to join our dynamic team as a Program Assistant for our Outreach and Education department. This is a fantastic chance to make a real impact on the natural resources and local communities of the Chesapeake Bay region. As a non-profit grant-making organization, we've been at the forefront of environmental conservation since 1985.
About Us
At the heart of our mission lies a commitment to engaging and empowering diverse groups, fostering positive actions to enrich our beloved Chesapeake Bay region. Over the years, we have significantly increased our grant-making, now providing support for approximately 350 to 400 projects each year, ranging from $100 to ~$400,000, across various realms including capacity building, community engagement, conservation, environmental education, restoration, and science.
Position Overview
As a Program Assistant, you'll be a key player in driving our outreach and education efforts. Your work will also extend to supporting other important initiatives within the organization. You'll have the opportunity to spend 80% of your time contributing to the advancement of our mission, making a genuine difference in environmental stewardship and restoration goals.
Responsibilities
Play a crucial role in managing grants that align with our stewardship and restoration goals, from proposal review to final report/close-out. This may involve occasional site visits to truly connect with our projects.
Be the point of contact for grantee correspondence, ensuring smooth communication and support for the Outreach and Education team.
Prepare compelling grant reports and meeting materials for staff and review committees, showcasing the impact of our work.
Create engaging website content that highlights the successes of our projects and programs.
Provide essential support to not-for-profit organizations in preparing grant proposals and managing grant awards, fostering partnerships that strengthen our collective impact.
Collaborate with the team on event logistics, including virtual meetings and exciting external events like grantee workshops and symposia.
Contribute to special projects like grantee newsletters, social media posts, blogs, and annual reports, adding your creative touch to our communications.
Help manage our online grants system and database software, ensuring efficiency and accessibility for all stakeholders.
Skills And Qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Exceptional organizational skills and unwavering attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently, both independently and as part of a team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate the impact of our work.
Experience with database management is a plus, but the desire and aptitude to learn are equally valued.
A Bachelor's degree is preferred, but your enthusiasm and dedication to environmental and community health issues are what truly matter.
Possession of a personal vehicle or access to transportation for occasional site visits and office commuting.
Salary And Benefits
We offer a competitive salary ranging from $40,000 to $45,000, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. As advocates for personal and professional growth, we provide opportunities for attending workshops, training programs, and conferences.
How To Apply
If you are enthusiastic about environmental conservation and eager to make a meaningful impact, we want to hear from you! Please submit your resume and a tailored cover letter highlighting how your skills and experience align with this unique opportunity. Let us know what motivates you to join our team and what sets you apart as the ideal candidate.
Join us in our commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and experiences. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
We look forward to welcoming our newest team member as soon as possible. Apply today and be a part of our mission to protect and enhance the Chesapeake Bay region!
