BirchStone Management is actively seeking an exceptional candidate for the Production Manager position at our pallet repair facility situated in Dallas, Texas.
The building is 200,000 sq. ft., employs up to 160 employees.
Compensation:
$95K (Commensurate with experience)

General Summary:
Responsible for training, directing and supervising production personnel in the performance of their assigned duties and achievement of department production, quality and safety goals. Ensures production
schedules are maintained and customer’s needs are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (functions considered essential as defined by ADA)
  • Conduct periodic audits of work teams to determine their needs and effectiveness.
  • Identify areas for quality improvement and initiate problem solving activities to improve quality performance.
  • Work with management team to develop an action plan to insure that budget, goals and targets are achieved in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement programs to reduce scrap and improve productivity.
  • Identify training needs, help develop training programs and assist in training of employees.
  • Administers the production schedule for the plant's processes to affect lower inventories, more economical labor costs, just in time programs and better utilization of existing facilities.
  • Identify areas for quality improvement and initiate problem solving activities to improve quality
  • Develop, implement and administer programs for improving manufacturing operations.
  • Establish and control manufacturing costs including labor, materials and overhead costs.
  • Coordinate the production activities of the department with the rest of the facility and maintain schedules to achieve a high level of customer service.

  • Maintain departments so that they are in a state of readiness for customer visits and audits.
  • Implement an appropriate performance evaluation system for recommending promotions, wage increases, and terminations.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum of seven (7) years in a warehousing or transportation environment, in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and computer skills.
  • Project management skills are essential for this position to manage initiatives that are implemented from the regional and corporate level.
  • Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in a related area.

May supervisor up to three Shift Supervisors, one Inventory Control Supervisor and other office personnel.
