The Production & Logistics Manager sets the overall workflow, establishing and following up on progress and deadlines for all projects. This role will interact with other departments within the business, to include: Design and Development, Estimating, Project Management, Purchasing, and the Production Team. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and self-motivation is required. The ideal candidate will have experience in the millwork (woodworking) industry and expertise in creating and managing production schedules, logistics, and project management.
Priorities
Salary range 75 to 85k (flexible depending on experience) 5% Scheduling (setting overall workflow, establishing and following up on progress and deadlines for all projects) 15% Project Management (big picture) 10% Logistics (installs – people, tools, equipment, vehicles) Key Responsibilities: Determine production schedules to maximize production efficiency with effective labor and equipment utilization. Review production schedules to ascertain product data (e.g., types, quantities, specifications of products and scheduled delivery and install dates), necessary to forecast staffing plan. Resource management: Manpower, equipment/tools, rentals, and transportation. Coordinate with Estimating on fabrication strategies, material and labor calculations. Establish a good working relationship with Project Managers to proactively address production concerns and opportunities. Establish and maintain relationships with labor staffing agencies. Coordinate with Purchaser to order stock materials and specialty project materials. Coordination with superintendents for installation schedule, manpower, equipment/tools and rentals. Lead weekly production meetings. Provide leadership and direction to staff to continuously improve quality, reduce waste and increase throughput. Analyze and plan work force utilization, material flow, and work flow. Develop and manage the production operations budget. Perform and make effective decisions to maintain production, quality and safety under pressure and deadlines. Review and update standard operational and working practices. Manage effectively multiple projects from inception to delivery and installation. Ensure product quality, production efficiencies and overall productivity meets or exceeds established standards. Ensure the facility is operating in a safe environment and all employees are engaged and active participants in a safety-first culture. Ensure quality outcome of product the first time, responsible for correcting quality errors and fixing processes to avoid future quality errors from re-occurring. Solve problems and develop creative methods to improve production, control costs and maintain a safety awareness program. Manage production metrics and scorecard. Education:
A bachelor's degree - Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology is a plus.
