Role Overview


We are looking for:


The Production Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership and support to ensure that currently defined processes meet or exceed production unit’s target in terms of HSE, quality, productivity, cost, and delivery. The engineer should lead incremental improvement initiatives to optimize existing processes through Productivity Area Improvement Team workout sessions.


We count on you for:


  • Demonstrate problem solving ability to independently or collaboratively solve a complex problem.
  • Performs hazard analysis along with HSE engineers to develop procedures for non-routine tasks.
  • Provides day to day technical trouble-shooting for the department and support of operations.
  • Supports the Production Unit Manager's and Process Engineers' improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical support in capital improvement projects and development of capital budget.
  • Demonstrate understanding of technical or complex manufacturing processes.
  • Investigates and proposes corrective actions for quality upsets identified by Quality Engineers.
  • Reports variance reports for all production orders.
  • Understand various Lean continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrate resiliency in completing projects with significant time and resource constraints.
  • Develops system for measuring and reporting performance vs. productivity and quality goals.
  • Maintain and manage routing effectiveness metric, bills-of-material, routings, scrap, yield, and other aspects of product configuration.
  • Transfers engineering instructions for trials and non-standard products into an executable plan.
  • Possess ability for developing and tracking metrics/performance indicators.
  • Lead role in ensuring process parameters of existing process are in statistical control.
  • Primary technical liaison with Trainer in the development of training modules.
  • Ensure asset utilization metrics such as overall equipment effectiveness (OEE),cycle time, downtime, and throughput are visible on the shop floor and deviations to standard are being actioned.
  • Evaluates daily performance and identifies and eliminates special cause variations.
  • Leads investigation and defines corrective actions for closed job variances.
  • Maintain, develop and update all control documents such as standard operating procedures, production logs, and quality records.
  • Fill in as relief for Production Unit Manager as needed. Leads department in shutdown and startup of process to ensure all equipment is protected and maintained while down during major turnaround work.
  • Assures clearly defined procedures and instructions are documented and issued to support the improvements developed by the Process Engineers and projects.


You will bring:


  • Troubleshooting and problem solving skills are essential to resolve quality and efficiency issues.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication and ability to act as an individual contributor or as a project team leader.
  • Strong Communication Skills (Written and Verbal)
  • Must be able to develop and provide formal classroom training on technical topics using Microsoft Powerpoint, Google Slides, handouts, hand-drawn sketches or other forms of communications
  • Ability to build relationships and influence people
  • 2 years' experience in complex industrial manufacturing or chemical processing environment.
  • Understanding of Statistical Process Control methodology is required to maintain operating processes at target limits.
  • Ability to read instrumentation and record data through computer input
  • Must be safety focused
  • Performance and results oriented
  • Ability to understand, apply and develop written work instructions/SOP's
  • Advanced PC Skills including communication via email, use of spreadsheets, use of company network and process computer, ability to write, approve and organize maintenance work orders, ability to review and analyze physical testing data. Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control and legible handwriting
  • Bachelor's level degree in Engineering required - Prefer Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering degree.
  • An understanding of process flow and how various chemical, mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems interact to produce a product of the desired quality in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Must comprehend the process, be capable of analyzing changes in the process and make timely decisions with minimal assistance. Working knowledge of process and instrumentation drawings and flow sheets is a must

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $80,500.00 to $100,500.00. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
  • 16, or more, weeks of maternity/paternity and co-parenting leave, according to local regulations
