About the Job:

Manage, direct and coordinate all areas of manufacturing production to achieve the required key metrics of the organization. Develop and maintain both a safe environment and a workforce capable of meeting performance standards in the present and future in accordance with production and delivery schedules. Manage a team of supervisors to help carry out necessary duties to achieve required KPIs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and/or present a variety of key metric, manufacturing and operations reports to management. Analyze results and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Hire and train employees, write or review performance appraisals and administer corrective action when appropriate. Develop and coach supervisors and other direct and indirect reports in their roles.
  • Work with vendors to determine product specifications and work with purchasing function to purchase of equipment, materials, or parts. Evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • In conjunction with the quality function, conduct audits and reviews for non-conformances; initiate corrective and preventative action plans and validate their effectiveness.
  • Participate in or lead 5S, Kaizen events, and quality workshops to continuously improve work methods and processes within areas of responsibility.
  • Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to meet objectives. Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Champion safety within the plant, ensuring the use of proper safety equipment, methods and behaviors as well as general housekeeping; take corrective action to address hazardous conditions and practices.
  • Establish production operations policies, procedures, and control systems to meet objectives and KPI’s. Maintain internal controls within production departments.
  • Plan, direct, schedule and coordinate the manufacturing departments and processes in the industrial plant to ensure that daily and monthly objectives and KPI’s are met.

Key Requirements:

  • Results oriented, self-directed, attention to detail, meets agreed deadlines.
  • Decision making; analytical skills; ability to lead, develop and motivate others.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Seven or more years of experience in supervision in a multi-shift manufacturing setting.
  • Possess strong communication skills and the ability to clearly present information through the spoken and written work, motivate, influence and persuade others in a desired direction to achieve objectives.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office products. Experience with ERP system highly desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Change management skills to lead continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Ability to establish good working relationships and develop strong teamwork.
