Job Description

Position Summary:

The Production Coordinator facilitates communication between Bottling Operations, Procurement, Client Services Manager and Senior Customer Service Manager to ensure pre-bottling processes are complete, accurate, and on track. Additionally, this position is responsible for accurate post-production documentation and reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Pre-Production Coordination

  • Generate Product Spec sheet in NAV and broadcast to Stakeholders.
  • Create and set up all items in Purple’s ERP (NAV) for both Purple Brands and 3rd Party projects.
  • Create project assembly work orders and provide complete and accurate production work packet to Bottling team.
  • Run Material Requirement Report and communicate material needs to Buyer and Procurement Manager.
  • Maintain and create accurate and consistent bill of materials.
  • Assist Buyer and Procurement Manager on packaging inventory reconciliation and disposition.
  • Assist Buyer and Procurement Manager as needed with New Product Development.
  • Provide back up support for set up of finished goods in VIP system.

Production Project Coordination

  • Support Bottling and Procurement in management of QIR log.
  • Assist the Client Services Manager with any 3rd Party requests or issues, as needed.
  • Assist with the coordination and execution of off-site bottling projects.
  • Update and help maintain the bottling schedule detail regarding packaging and Assembly order information.
  • Collaborate with Bottling to ensure all packaging materials have sufficient volumes and quality standards to maintain efficiency.
  • Support any ad hoc requests.
  • Review production schedule with Procurement and Bottling to confirm project expectations are on track
  • Obtain approval, create, and disseminate case label files.
  • Contribute to and uphold ISO standards and quality management system policies.
  • Assist in communication of production schedule changes and adjust requirements for incoming materials to ensure no down time is incurred on production floor, as well as to minimize changeover times and overtime expenses.
  • Work closely with the Warehouse team to resolve shortages or inventory discrepancies. Take an active and direct role in “day-of-bottling” issue resolution and other customer service-related issues with our outside clients for any issues pertaining to bottling quality or material inventories.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work with little or no supervision and make independent decisions.
  • Computer skills: Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, Microsoft Navision.
  • Good math and English reading and writing skills.
  • Ability to “multi-task” and handle various duties within a work schedule.
  • 1-2 years of Production and Materials planning in the wine or related industry.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skill.
  • Ability to work long days when required.
  • Some knowledge of UPC and SCC bar code creation.
  • Self-starter and ability to look for areas to improve processes.
  • Basic knowledge of ISO and Food Safety Programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills with emphasis on MRP, Excel and Outlook.
  • Previous experience in an industry with a Quality System, with emphasis on HACCP.
