PAY RATE: $19.50/hr.
WORK LOCATION: Houston, TX
SHIFT: Monday - Friday (8 hour shifts, rotating) -
4am - 12pm
12pm - 8pm
8pm - 4am
  • Must be flexible working all shifts
SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL:
9:00pm - 5:00am = $2/hr.
Over 40 hours = 1.5 X pay

ROLE SUMMARY:
This Brewer I is primarily responsible for safely and efficiently producing high quality beer!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Follows existing policies, practices and procedures.
  • Tank Management
  • Use of proper and safe chemical handling techniques
  • Produces quality wort according to SOP’s including, but not limited to, target gravity, IBU, color and volume.
  • Capable of frequently lifting and carrying 50 pounds.
  • Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with laws, regulations, and accepted business ethics.
  • Manages the overall technical brewing processes for integrity and capability.
  • Refers questions and problems to higher levels.
  • Comfortable working with chemicals of varying composition and maintaining adherence to safety standards at all times during routine cleaning of brewing equipment.
  • Ability to perform frequent physical activity in the form of lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, etc.
  • Brewing recipes to spec
  • Identifies and reports quality concerns.
  • Perform daily job duties including, but not limited to: CIP, malt milling, operating brew house, wort transfers, yeast pitching, fermentation monitoring, general cleaning, beer tasting.
  • Troubleshooting
  • Duties and tasks are simple and repetitive.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • One year of comparable brewing experience in a craft brewery preferred
  • Ability to interpret process and instrumentation diagrams
  • A strong mechanical and problem solving attitude
  • Problem solving experience
  • College Degree preferred
  • Operator based maintenance or manufacturing maintenance assignment
  • High school education or equivalent
