About Working At Commerce
- Collaborate with the commercial payments line of business to refine the product definition, strategy and long-term vision
- Interact with customers, prospects and the sales team, identify customer needs and opportunities to solve market problems
- Build and present applicable business cases as new product opportunities About Working at Commerce
- Develop and implement departmental plans in conjunction with corporate goals, plans and policies
- Perform all necessary management functions, including hiring, evaluations, annual increase allocations and disciplinary action as required
- Lead, mentor and motivate team members to implement market strategy and manage department workflow with guidance on departmental projects/issues, and provide coaching and development opportunities appropriate to each direct report's individual needs
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Communicate decisions, priorities and relevant information to team members effectively
- Drive growth in the market which includes new commercial relationships comprised of loans, deposits, and comprehensive payments
- Support budget management, planning and expenditure
- Ability to drive results and balance management of organizational risk and meeting goals of the business
- Advance level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook
- Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to apply discretion and sound judgement to efficiently and effectively solve problems
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the company, clearly expressing ideas and concepts both verbally and in writing
- Ability to critically review, analyze and structure commercial loans, cross sell other bank products, and attract new business to Commerce Bank
- Strong knowledge of the Commercial Banking field and other banking, products, services, and lending principles, including knowledge of best practices
- Must be goal-oriented with strong sales skills to facilitate and cultivate leads
- Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and meet Commerce Bank’s driving record criteria; ongoing employment may be contingent upon meeting all driving requirements
- Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate team members and foster a positive team environment that gives way to collaboration and unified goals
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- 15+ years Commercial Banking experience required
- 7+ years leadership/supervisory experience required
