Traditionally, the apparel industry globally has been driven by fast fashion, which does not take the environmental and social impacts of garment manufacturing into account. The Patagonia Sportswear business unit seeks to disrupt and challenge this model, and pioneer and scale environmental and social responsibility, by introducing new initiatives (including recycled nylon, recycled down, natural dyes and Fair Trade) into the product assortment. We are looking for someone who is highly collaborative and loves building product that is equally beautiful, functional, and productive.
Supporting the Product Line Director, it is the Product Line Manager’s responsibility to drive the development and delivery of a product line that increases revenue, gross margin, and market share with a strategic assortment of best-in-class products. With their understanding of the Patagonia product range and business, the market, and key stakeholder insights, they leverage our internal product teams and resources to assist in delivering innovative products that resonate with our global sales channels.
The PLM is responsible for maintaining necessary and timely product, competitor, and market information in a manner that enables the Product Line Director to effectively manage the W’s Life Outdoor Category. This individual will maintain all systems, information decks, and product marketing information related to the category. This person will also be responsible for creating impactful presentations that apply digital tools at appropriate gates to inform and inspire cross functional and downstream partners around our seasonal product strategies.
What You’ll Do:
  • Develop content for sales and marketing tools, merchandising strategies and other product planning needs essential for delivering seasonal product collections.
  • Maintain the category line plan, retail pricing, color information and all relevant product information within the PLM system and necessary line planning, pre-lining and line review tools, for W’s Life Outdoor.
  • Responsible for creating content and leading presentations with global sales channels at Global Line Reviews and Sales Meetings.
  • Manage allocated travel budget for tradeshows, dealer visits, market tours, and regional sales meetings.
  • Work with design and development to ensure all products are fit correct, executed per the brief, and achieve costing and margin targets.
  • Deliver a globally-relevant line of best-in-class products that maintain/grow revenue and gross margin, decrease our planetary impacts and support our broader activism.
  • Develop strong working relationships with colleagues across teams and drive the product development process by enabling and empowering others.
  • Select and maintain category sales sample set and manage SMS process.
  • Responsible for leading presentations and discussions with global sales channels, buyers and key dealers to gather insights that inform product and line development.
  • Engage the interdepartmental product team to drive workflow, operational priorities and actions towards deadlines on the seasonal Go-To-Market Calendar.
  • Deliver briefs and other forms of product communication to Design, Development, Marketing and Materials Teams.
  • Oversee and manage relevant and current product, competitor, trend and market information for the W’s Life Outdoor category.
  • Think critically to evaluate situations, make responsible decisions and drive projects to completion.
  • In partnership with product creation team, help develop products that stay true to the Patagonia’s design principles and initiatives.
Who You Are:
  • Emotionally intelligent - high level of self-awareness, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-Oriented - ability to consistently communicate and follow up between external and internal parties and meet deadlines.

  • Strong quantitative/analytical skills.
