Outdoor Education Instructors Jobs

Join a fantastic community of energetic educators at a residential outdoor education center near Big Bear, CA as we work to open the eyes of city-based kids to the wonders and beauty of nature! Contracts from September to May, with the opportunity to renew for future school years.

REQUIREMENTS

• A college degree, OR
• Have experience working with children
• Age 21 or older, OR

JOB DUTIES

• Field Instructors take students on hikes during the day and teach about ecology, environmental science, and teamwork.
• Cabin Instructors supervise students overnight and sleep in cabins.
• Rotate between Field and Cabin, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, with weekends and school holidays off.
• Continuing education to help you become a better teacher.
• Work in the mountains of Southern California teaching elementary students!

PAY

• Total compensation package of $182/day
• Paid training

• Shift wage is $105 a shift. Opportunity for extra work
• Full time housing in Big Bear
• Meals during the week when program is in session

• We are in the San Bernardino National Forest near Big Bear City, CA.
• We need educators to join our crew of tree hugging earth lovers as they work to open the eyes of city based kids to the wonders and beauty of nature.
• This is a fun place, in a fantastic community of young and energetic educators.
• We are a residential outdoor education center for elementary students in Southern California.
• This coming school year will be our 24th year in business, so we have a lot of experience to help us make your time spent here both fun and rewarding.

OUR CORNER OF THE COUNTRY IS PRETTY DARN COOL! We are based in Big Bear, the coolest mountain town in Southern California; no other outdoor ed center is based here. From mountains to deserts to beaches, with a little small town atmosphere close by and a lot of big city amenities within a couple of hours...pretty nice...
