Purpose


~ The Manager, Product Line Management – EVs is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned vehicle(s), which includes maintaining comprehensive, real-time knowledge of sales performance at a national/regional/market level, inventory levels/mix, product/pricing/incentive competitiveness, marketing effectiveness, region/dealer engagement (including EV readiness) levels, competitor activity, ZEV compliance progress, and EV market dynamics/trends. This role will focus on data management, data visualization, and data analysis to create recommendations to support product performance target achievements.


~ The department’s key mission is to achieve revenue and share objectives and provide strategic direction on go-to-market strategies that optimize sales and profitability for assigned vehicle(s). Responsible to support the Sr. Manager and Sr. Group Manager to ensure successful product portfolio management and new product launch coordination.


Major Responsibilities


~ This position reports to the Senior Manager for Hyundai EVs.


~ Proactively analyze performance of assigned vehicle(s) relative to objectives, develop actionable recommendations to optimize performance across the levers listed below and help create presentation materials to be shared with executive management at regular governance meetings.


~ Product Planning: Provide strategic input to ensure assigned vehicle(s) meets Sales and Marketing channel marketplace needs.


~ Strategy: Manage development of vehicle positioning strategies and Key Selling Points (KSPs) for all-new, major change, and face-lift vehicles.


~ Marketing: Collaborate to ensure target customer, product concept, positioning, KSPs are clearly communicated and with consistency throughout all company-owned and 3rd party websites/channels.


~ Incentives: Collaborate to optimize competitiveness and support incentives planning meetings.


~ Pricing: Collaborate to ensure pricing competitiveness and identify opportunities to increase revenue.


~ Finance: Analyze and validate financial impact of recommendations.


~ Production: Partner with Distribution to ensure optimized trim mix and balanced pipeline.


~ Sales Training: Collaborate to ensure KSPs are clearly communicated (ensure consistency with key marketing messages, positioning, and proper competitor comparisons).


Major Responsibilities (continued)


~ Sales Operations: Operate closely with field leadership to understand market dynamics to better collaborate, manage, and optimize media messaging, incentives and provide strategic/tactical inputs that drive the monthly go-to-market plan.


~ Business Unit Management: Coordinate with Sr. Manager to ensure business objectives for each vehicle are incorporated in model performance targets. Support the identification of key product, marketing and sales programs required to achieve objectives.


~ For assigned vehicle(s), support the Sr. Manager and Sr. Group Manager with regular Launch Committee Meetings to ensure cross-functional alignment and organizational readiness for new product launches.


~ Support ad hoc business optimization projects on an as needed basis.

Education


~ Must be a high school graduate


~ Master’s degree a plus


~ Bachelor’s degree required.


Related Experience


~ Minimum 6-7 years of professional experience at a manufacturer/distributor of consumer products with direct product responsibilities (planning, pricing, marketing, incentives, distribution, and/or sales).


~ Automotive, tech, mobility and related industry experience preferred.


~ Extensive data analysis experience and data visualization expertise required.


~ Cross-functional project management experience preferred.


Skills/Knowledge


~ High level of curiosity, passion and initiative in electrification/alt. fuel market and trends.


~ Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.


~ Ability to simplify complex issues, develop a compelling point of view, and persuasively make case for change leading to action.


~ Excellent communication and presentation skills.


~ Good organizational and teamwork skills.


~ Ability to multi-task.


~ Strong automotive industry, EV, and technology knowledge preferred.


~ MS Office expertise.


~ Experience with Tableau, PIN, mTab, Maritz, GfK, IHS/Polk, Urban Science, studies/tools a plus.
