Product Development Manager Jobs

OVERVIEW

Reporting to the President, Moon Juice is looking for a Manager of Product Development to lead - alongside the company founder - all product development in both skin care and supplements. The ideal candidate is at the forefront of cutting-edge science and sustainability, is detailed oriented, and eager to go deep into ingredient research, sourcing, and sustainability.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITES

·Partner with brand founder, marketing and operations to lead the complete product development cycle from conception to launch, from formula to components to finished goods packaging.

·Determine COG targets, make recommendations on pricing strategy

·Review current portfolio to identify improvement opportunities (ingredients, formula, costs, innovation)

·Continue to grow existing product collections and identify key communication opportunities and unique product stories to creatively drive brand awareness with maximum impact

·Lead and develop the communication of product benefits and marketing claims of existing and new products to cross functional team; create PD briefs

·Translate scientific and technical information into relevant consumer language

·Conduct research on the market, competition, and customers to identify trends and opportunities for future growth

·Own entire process of product efficacy, safety and clinical testing and claims

·Develop and project manage timelines and milestones across all PD stage-gates with cross functional stakeholders; lead weekly PD meetings and hold key stakeholders accountable on deliverables

·Develop strong relationship with contract manufacturers and ingredient suppliers and other partners to constantly look for improvements in quality, sustainability, and pricing

·Partner with Quality to establish quality standards and processes and assist on corrective/preventative actions when issues arise

·Manage and track regulatory compliance, bulk approvals, lab samples and standards, and internal documentation

QUALIFICATIONS

·5+ years of product development, brand marketing, innovation roles in supplements and/or beauty

·Experience with international regulatory strongly preferred

·Strong understanding of quality and safety certifications and corresponding formulation requirements, including EWG verification

·Strong knowledge of ingredient efficacy, formulation, supply chain, regulatory affairs, clinical development, consumer insights, project management, product development lifecycle and business processes
