THE ROLE

The Procurement Manager will fulfill a key role on the Supply Chain team, aiding in fulfilling the procurement strategy for ingredients and materials through sourcing and selecting suppliers, and managing all procurement aspects of the new production development process for innovation projects. Additionally, the Procurement Manager will work closely with the team to assist in the building out and execution of our sustainability program. The Procurement Manager will be able to quickly pivot with changes in strategy and changes in demand as well as communicate relevant updates to stakeholders throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

• Drive ingredient selection and process management within new product development innovation process; support R&D trials and innovation requests
• Support the strategic sourcing process, including but not limited to sourcing events and negotiation, supplier onboarding, and executing of cost-focused strategy initiatives
• Partner with Materials Planning team to ensure adequate supply of ingredients when / where needed
• Identify additional sustainable sourcing initiatives (regenerative agriculture, etc.) and develop roadmap to implement
• Determine optimal annual contracting strategy to minimize supply chain risk while allowing for rapid growth across raw materials and packaging
• Mentor and coach team members to high levels of performance to be accomplished in ways consistent with the mission and employee ethos at OLIPOP
• Identify backup suppliers for all existing and future ingredients and partner with Quality team to ensure approval and implementation
• Monitor and analyze raw material and commodity markets to inform buying strategies and educate cross-functional team on macro/market dynamics
• Establish key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to finished good planning
• Work with Sustainability Manager to implement sustainability program throughout the organization, including where appropriate for raw materials and packaging

Qualifications

• Ability to think strategically and execute /problem solve tactical issues
• Transparent, open communicator - great listener who can read between the lines
• Professional, mature individual who possesses strict ethical standards
• Proven ability to develop strategic plans and manage implementation and execution, along with an ability to analyze data and identify root causes
• Deep understanding of cost and productivity drivers, and managing the complete eco-system to deliver accurate production volume, cost structure and P&L, and be able to make decisions on trade-offs and priorities to deliver the goals
• Communication skills (present ideas effectively, actively listen and work across functional boundaries)
• Dynamic problem solver - comfortable challenging assumptions and offering solutions with incomplete information.
• Highly organized with excellent follow-through
• A thought leader with a proven track record leading others
• Functional strategy development and delivery experience; conversion of business insights/needs into Supply Chain strategy
• 5-8 years of procurement experience in CPG related fields

Compensation

$110,000-$120,000 base salary + bonus
