Job Description

About Merion

Founded in 2003, Merion Investment Partners is a Private Equity fund managing over $425MM of capital. Merion invests debt and equity in companies that have strong growth potential, proven management teams, a strategic competitive advantage and/or is operating in sectors of the economy that are poised to exhibit growth. The fund invests $4 - 20MM of first or second lien debt and equity into companies with $2 - 10MM of EBITDA, with a focus on niche manufacturing, healthcare and business services companies.


Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor existing portfolio companies and track financial performance
  • Develop new business development contacts within the private equity industry
  • Create financial models and IRR calculators as part of the investment underwriting process
  • Underwrite new investment opportunities and assist in initial deal due diligence review


Candidate Qualifications

  • Curiosity for understanding new businesses and industries
  • Proficient writing skills
  • Finance or Accounting Major with an interest in Private Equity
  • Rising Junior or Senior with strong academic qualifications
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Strong Excel and Financial Modeling skills
  • Familiar with accounting and finance concepts
  • Ability to distill complex information to evaluate investment merits

Additional Information

  • The internshipwill be a remote model with dedicated training sessions and follow-up Zoom instruction as appropriate. Candidates in Southern California or Philadelphia could receive additional in-person instruction if desired.
  • Merion will provide a weekly stipend and bonus upon internship completion
  • Start date flexible
  • The ideal candidate can work full time for Monday - Friday
