About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative In Vitro Pharmacologist with expertise in GPCRs to join our Drug Discovery team. This individual will be an integral team member, supporting lead optimization campaigns and multiple new target screening efforts in the context of multidisciplinary project teams. Responsibilities include designing, developing, optimizing, validating, executing, and analyzing data from in vitro pharmacology assays to generate high quality, reproducible results. Critical analysis and insightful interpretation of biochemical, cell-based functional, and binding assay data is essential to identify lead compounds and contribute to the understanding of potency and mechanism of action. The individual will also be responsible for documenting protocols in an electronic laboratory notebook and regularly presenting clear written and verbal data summaries at project meetings. The work is fast-paced and process-oriented in an environment where efficiency and continuous improvement are integral goals.

Your Contributions (include, But Are Not Limited To)
  • Lead data analysis and reporting and tracks and documents assay performance
  • Perform molecular biology and other techniques as needed to understand MOA
  • Contributes substantively to patent and publication preparation
  • Develop new biochemical and cell-based assays and performs routine assays to support lead identification and optimization and understanding of MOA
  • Design and performs advanced, complex experimental troubleshooting and methods development to support GPCR projects and other projects
  • Import new principles/concepts from other fields to develop useful new experimental approaches to solve scientific problems
  • Provide critical analysis of external literature relevant to project(s) and scientific field in general
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Distill complicated, multidimensional data to clear hypotheses and new experimental directions
  • Continually provide recommendations to improve on process efficiency and research quality
Requirements
  • Experience with receptor kinetics and receptor occupancy studies in vivo and ex vivo is desired
  • PhD in neuroscience, cell biology or pharmacology +4 years of experience in the drug discovery industry; MS/MA with 10+ years of vitro pharmacology experience, or BS/BA with a 12+ years of experience in the drug discovery industry
  • Outstanding experimental design, problem-solving, data analysis skills and analytical thinking skills are essential
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), time management, organizational and interpersonal skills to ensure operational excellence of daily laboratory needs
  • Demonstrated experience with a broad range of in vitro biological approaches for studying GPCRs, including primary cell systems, is essential
  • Experience using modern automation, inventory systems, data analysis and informatics systems is beneficial
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment toward timely execution of shared team deliverables
  • Ability to effectively multitask and advance various projects simultaneously without compromising data quality or reproducibility is essential
  • Enthusiasm for developing an expanding technical and theoretical knowledge base

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $122,000.00-$195,200.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
