Description Summary:

Perform and coordinate requests for information/quote/proposal, supplier selection, material & equipment procurement, R&D builds and scheduling, Physician Performance Testing (PPT) and initial commercial launch builds and scheduling, to meet the R&D NPI project schedule.

• Collect, analyze, and interpret manufacturing data to make decisions that may impact production, staff, or processes
• Support with negotiating a Master Supply Agreement for key suppliers and/or products
• Resolve quality, pricing, and delivery issues with suppliers
• Help determine and implement procurement strategies, policies, and procedures while successfully managing risks, including helping to access supplier risks for all sites
• Support new product development by coordinating supplier input during the development period and lead negotiations for desired results
• Manage large projects and progress for critical tasks
• What you will be doing: Work closely with Global Planning to perform and coordinate the global procurement of raw material for complex product lines to meet R&D NPI project master schedule
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
• Prioritize own assignments while focusing on key tasks despite limited time and resources
• Travel less than 25% of time.
• Accept the responsibility of a leadership role in improving processes
• Establish and maintain positive supplier relations and partnerships
• Perform Material Transfer from R&D (X-level drawings/components) to production inventory (A-level drawings/components) and initiate transition (3 months prior to commercial launch) to Commercial Procurement team
• Work under minimal supervision while assisting less experienced peers
• Manage Supplier Schedules for PO line-item deliveries and component qualifications/validations
• Comply with applicable laws and regulations, adhere to quality, as well as demonstrate ethics and integrity in all matters and at all levels throughout the organization
• Identify and implement cost savings and cost avoidance opportunities
• Develop procurement metrics and tracking reports
• Help to develop make vs buy analysis for key products
• Work with R&D to review the specifications and drawings with suppliers to ensure MVI requirements are well understood by suppliers
• Process purchase orders while negotiating a cost that meets COGS target
• Serve as the key point-of-contact with suppliers to communicate forecast, capacity, and supply needs. Manage (coordinate and host) meetings with R&D, Supplier Quality, and suppliers

What you should be bringing:

• Experience using Windchill or related PLM system
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of purchasing, scheduling, and planning best practices and procedures
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and negotiating skills
• Tactical experience with supply chain management including material flow and delivery applications
• Experience using SAP or related MRP system
• Minimum ten (10) years of relevant work experience
• Experience with developing and implementing procurement policies
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP Systems, BOM, and planning skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to build and enhance solid working relationships that promote collaboration and cooperation with all levels of the company and suppliers
• Ability to think independently in a constantly changing production environment
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study
• Sound judgment and exceptional time management skills

• Medical device manufacturing experience
• APICS CPIM or CSCP; ISM CPSM
• Tactical experience with lean principles and six sigma methodologies
• Ability to develop Power BI reports
• Knowledge of medical device associated supply base
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes
