Responsibilities:
We are looking for a motivated, driven, entry-level candidate to grow within our team and support the daily activity of the Prime Services Sales Trading desk responsible for Synthetic activity and stock loan requirements of our Prime brokerage client franchise. This client-facing role will also encompass the tasks of ensuring efficient and accurate transaction processing and appropriate risk management of the OTC options intermediation activity. The candidate will be responsible of monitoring and proactively resolving trade breaks on trade date, performing Risk checks to ensure all economic details are in line, ensuring all positions and P&L match between deal capture systems and settlement systems, escalating when needed all issues to Trading desk, Risk teams and Clients.
The candidate will be taking on the below responsibilities:
- Contributes to and leads the quick resolution of trade issues by liaising with various groups including Trading desk, Middle Office, IT, Risk teams as well as Clients.
- Adheres to deadlines and objectives.
- Ensures accurate trading position in Front Office system, daily goal is to correct all discrepancies originated by system bugs, input mistakes, information loss.
- Monitors and assists in event processing and have a full understanding of the life cycle of a trade (swaps and OTC option)
- Mitigates risk by reconciling discrepancies between the trading desk’s positions and the firm’s books and records.
- Raises and engages with the trading desk and relevant internal teams (product development, Ops, IT…) on new project initiatives designed to improve and streamline existing processes.
- Promotes an efficient dialog/discussion with our internal and external partners.
- Manages real time trade booking exceptions and client request with the trading desk, Risk and clients.
- Reconciles trading desk position and monitors overall delta positions, maintains communication with middle office, back office, Risk teams as well as clients to resolve any breaks and settlements issues.
- Monitoring and ensuring appropriate risk management by providing proper Trading desk support.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Flexibility to adapt to a new and changing environment.
- Fast learner, curious and eager to improve their skills set for professional growth.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is imperative.
- Strong team player, work well with the team as well as building relationship across the PB platform and our client franchise.
- Maintains high quality of customer service
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills is a must.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, able to analyze data, form judgement and raise efficiency opportunities.
- Ability to effectively listen and communicate.
- Strong academic background required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Financial market knowledge of derivatives products including total return swaps, portfolio swaps, OTC options….
- 1 to 3 years of experience in sales, client facing activity and/or trading activity.
- Experience and/or training knowledge in coding.
FINRA Registrations Required:
The candidate will take the below Finra series when joining the team: series 7 and 63, then 57
CFTC Swap Dealer Associated Person (if yes, NFA Swaps Proficiency Program is required):
The candidate will complete the NFA training when joining the team
SEC Security-Based Swap Dealer Associated Person:
The candidate will complete the SBSD registration when joining the team.
The expected starting salary range for this position in New is between $105,000.00to $200,000.00 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
