Job Description

We re seeking a qualified candidate for President for our metals client located in Niles, Michigan.


Qualified candidates need to have experience in being fully responsible for P&L, have overseen Sales, Marketing, HR, Operations, etc.


Salary - $250K - $300K plus up to 25% bonus. Relocation assistance.


The President will provide strategic leadership to the Niles, Michigan location and have full P&L responsibility to drive results for the business. This successful leader will enable the company to position itself at the forefront of our competitive markets. The President will be tasked to develop and maintain a strategic plan to advance the company's mission and vision, to promote long term revenue and profitable growth. Monitor performance against forecasts and plans, ensure production efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources. This successful individual will provide effective leadership with direct/indirect reports and develop a self-sustaining business talent pool that meets the emerging demands of the business.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Deliver the personal leadership required to ensure exceptional environment, health, and safety performance
  • Monitor performance against budget expectations on an ongoing basis and establish mitigation plans where necessary to address shortfalls
  • Coach leaders to accomplish their developmental and P&L goals
  • Represent the company at industry meetings and seek out partnerships within the local community to create strategic relationships but also to create opportunities for our employees to feel connected and proud of the work they contribute
  • Grow a business, develop its marketing and sales strategy, with a mindset of continuous improvement, embracing innovation, staying updated with industry advancements, and driving operational excellence
  • Partner with the M&A Team, at both the Holding Company and Divisional levels, to evaluate and assimilate acquisition targets
  • Lead key operational and commercial initiatives that drive long-term growth and profitability for the company with full P&L and Capex responsibility
  • Ensure regular and clear communication to the whole business to build awareness of strategic direction, company performance and central issues requiring team focus
  • Recruit and mentor emerging talent to become the future leaders for the organization
  • Established in the budget
  • Ensure all company employees and representatives act in line with the Company and the compliance program and all international trade compliance rules, at all times
  • Prepare, present, and gain approval for the annual budget
  • Develop short, medium, and long-term strategic plans to deliver sustained revenue and profitability growth, both organically and where possible through acquisition
  • Maintain an accurate forecast of expected outturn against all key financial metrics
  • Embrace a metrics driven culture and understand how the changing digital landscape can be best utilized to drive growth and profitability
  • Actively utilize company provided tools, to monitor results, create goal plans, evaluate performance, and create comprehensive succession plans for self and direct reports
  • Promote the company in the markets in which we sell products to include both attendance and exhibiting at the key market trade shows

  • Education

    An undergraduate degree in business, engineering, operations, or a relevant curriculum is required, MBA preferred


    Skills & Relevant Work Experience

    • 15+ years of management/manufacturing experience, preferably in steel/wire production or a similar related industry, with direct P&L oversight and strong financial acumen, 7-10 years of experience managing a complex multi-shift, continuous operations environment
    • Analyzing pipeline dynamics, assessing leading and lagging key performance indicators (KPIs), and generating actionable insights. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
    • Experience leading business with operations throughout North America
    • Proven experience in strategic planning and demonstrating success in managing
    • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management
    • Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills, ability to attract top talent, capability to develop high performers, and hold people accountable for their performance
    • Ability to travel 10%; may require minimal international travel
    • Matrixed organization.
    • Complexity from a product and market perspective
    • Must have strong commercial instincts with a proven track record of driving growth and customer satisfaction
    • Proven capability to deliver results and drive strategic leadership within a complex
    • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures
