Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and driven energy professional to join our energy company as President. You will play a crucial role in connecting commercial and industrial energy consumers with the most suitable energy suppliers, products and terms available in the market. You will leverage your industry knowledge, relationships, negotiation skills, and overall network to facilitate strategic energy procurement for our clients, ensuring their considerable energy supply needs are met cost-effectively with appropriate risk mitigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of energy markets, variables, and trends; excellent, proactive, and consistent communication skills; and a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers and relevant subject matter experts. Strong leadership, business vision, competitive drive, a proven history of successfully taking initiative, and consistently achieving and/or exceeding goals are also requirements of this executive position.

Responsibilities:

· Client Relationship Management: Build, retain and manage strong relationships with clients; understand their energy requirements, facilities, geographies, risk tolerances, creditworthiness, timelines, decision-making and reporting needs; and provide them with timely, tailored solutions to meet their energy supply needs.

· Energy Procurement: Guide clients in all facets of procuring energy supply contracts, analyzing their energy consumption patterns, and identifying the most suitable suppliers, pricing options and terms available in the market, with a keen eye to market variables and trends.

·Supplier Network Development: Cultivate and manage relationships with qualified energy suppliers, maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of their service territories, product offerings, pricing structures, contractual terms, and processes and procedures, to effectively match clients with appropriate suppliers.

·Market Analyses: Stay up-to-date with energy market trends, variables, regulatory changes, innovations, eligible geographies, pricing fluctuations, competitive considerations, and ever-changing market conditions to provide informed real-time advice and recommendations to clients.

· Negotiation and Contracting: Negotiate and secure favorable energy procurement terms and conditions on behalf of clients, ensuring the execution of energy supply contracts that align with their strategic, budgetary, and operational requirements.

· Contract Management: Oversee and manage the ongoing performance of energy contracts; actively monitor and address any issues that may arise during the contract term; and proactively renew them well ahead of their end dates. Likewise, oversee supplier agreements and payments; compliance documentation as/where required; legal and insurance; and human resources documentation.

·On-Going Client Support: Provide ongoing support to clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and serving as a trusted advisor for all energy-related matters.

· Marketing and Networking: Proactively seek out relevant opportunities, events, and conferences in order to secure new business, promote the virtues and attributes of energy procurement, and serve as the company’s ultimate public-facing brand ambassador. Also, manage and maintain website, social media channels, email campaigns, and other public-facing marketing efforts.

·Energy Efficiency and Sustainability: Promote overall energy efficiency, sustainability initiatives and environmental/climate sensitivities to clients, advising on energy conservation strategies, renewable energy solutions, demand reduction, lighting, RECs, PPAs and VPPAs, EV charging, and ESG considerations (etc).

·Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about industry advancements, new technologies, and energy management best practices, sharing insights and recommendations with clients to optimize their energy procurement and usage.

·Accounting and Compliance: Provide fiduciary consideration and care in all facets of the business; ensure compliance with relevant regulations, filings and documentation requirements in all locations; maintain accurate accounting and banking records; manage professional vendor relationships; coordinate and pay company taxes as required; provide recurring, timely, transparent reporting to all Company stakeholders; establish policies and procedures in the best interest of the company.

· Operational Oversight: Build, lead and inspire a small team of empowered support staff handling key functions including marketing, social media, branding, accounting, human resources, and general operations, on an aligned and coordinated basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, economics, marketing or engineering; additional certifications, professional designations or relevant advanced training in the energy sector are a strong plus.

· Prior proven experience as an active member of the energy procurement community, or leader or in a similar role within the energy industry, with a strong understanding of energy markets, suppliers, contract structures, and dynamics.

· Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build authentic and impactful on-going rapport with both clients and suppliers.

· Strong networking, business development, and follow-up skills

· Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and market trends to provide informed recommendations.

· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate and precise contract negotiations and management.

· Knowledge of energy efficiency best practices, renewable energy solutions, sustainability initiatives, climate change, industry trends and best practices, and related energy market variables.

· Knowledge of or experience with large-scale commercial real estate is strongly preferred.

· Keen understanding of technology-driven opportunities in generative AI, blockchain, automation, data monetization, and other leading-edge considerations.

· Proficient in using relevant software applications and tools for data analyses, reporting, accounting, CRM, and contract management.

· Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and meet frequent targets and deadlines.

·Professional demeanor and ethical conduct, upholding confidentiality and maintaining a high level of integrity, at all times.

·Verifiable track record of effective leadership and success, with supporting references.
