Postdoctoral position available on using structural proteomics to investigate the role of Hsp70 in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
The Truman lab at UNC Charlotte, USA is highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to study the role of the Hsp70 molecular chaperone in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). The project will involve a range of molecular technologies including cross-linking mass spectrometry, CRISPR-genome engineering and high-throughput screening in both yeast and mammalian cells (see: http://www.trumanlab.org).
NIH Funding is available for several years, with the expectation that the candidate will work with Dr. Truman to apply for fellowships during this time. Ideal candidates will have graduated less than one year from their start date in the Truman lab. To apply please email Dr. Truman [email protected]. Required qualifications:
·PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, cancer biology or related field.
·Experience in essential molecular biology and biochemistry techniques
·Experience in cell/tissue culture and cell-based assays
·Expertise in chaperone biology, signal transduction or neurodegenerative disease, evidenced by publications in high-impact journals
Useful qualifications:
·Experience generating new cell lines by CRISPR
·Experience in protein cross-linking experiments
·Experience in fluorescence microscopy and/or flow cytometry
