Special Investigator Jobs

Orlando, FL (Statewide)

Cedarwood Executive Solutions LLC is seeking Special Investigators to work on cases in Orlando, FL and throughout the state of Florida. The ideal candidate will conduct field investigations to assist our clients in criminal defense and other types of special investigations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Provide testimony at depositions and/or hearings (when required)
• Check for surveillance cameras in the area of incident
• Provide live verbal updates to internal personnel (as required)
• Obtain public and private records.
• Research similar cases online in the same jurisdiction or around the state and inform the attorney of outcomes in those cases.
• Create Investigative Activity Reports (IAR) which provides detailed documentation of investigative activities
• Perform an area canvasses
• Follow up with any additional witnesses other leads
• Submit work product regularly through secure digital portals
• Locate expert witnesses
• Conduct limited surveillance as required in accordance with state/federal law, and company policy
• Perform internet and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) investigations.
• Interview witnesses and subject involved in the case.
• Go to to the location of incident to measure and photograph.
• Read the statute/law that is charged and help determine the elements of the crime(s) charged, if intent is an issue, and what the prosecutor must prove.
• Review police reports and discovery in the case, including witness lists.
• Analyze investigative results and write summaries highlighting significant findings

QUALIFICATIONS

• Criminal Justice or related Degree preferred
• Preference will be given to former law enforcement officers
• Must possess a “C” license and an “A” license
• Must Possess Investigative Tools (Laptop, Video Cameras, Mobile Phone, etc.)
• Must Possess Valid State Driver’s License
• Must be Available to work Flexible Schedule to include weekends
• Must Possess Strong Writing and Verbal Communication Skills
• Must Possess Ability to function in a Digital Technology Environment
• Must be Dependable and able to meet Deadlines
• Must be a Self-Starter capable of working with Limited Supervision
