Job Description


As a Post-Award Specialist at our employer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to world-class academics, life-changing research, and compassionate healthcare. Post-Award Functions


  • Review budgets and reconcile award expenditures on a regular basis
  • Set up award and budget in appropriate University systems
  • Perform post-award sponsored program activities for assigned unit(s) within the GO Center
  • Meet regularly with Principal Investigators (PIs) regarding grant awards
  • Manage a larger and more complex grant and contract award portfolio


Post-Award Outreach And Liaison


  • Work effectively with other university offices on post-award sponsored program activities
  • Act as a resource to the GO Center in interpreting and administering federal regulations
  • Interact and collaborate with GO Center staff, internal administrative staff, and professional staff at various organizations


Other


  • Assist with grants/contract/research administration management systems
  • Perform related responsibilities as required


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Personal Characteristics


  • Ability to work effectively with little supervision and as a member of a team
  • Strong knowledge of grant processes and award/contract management
  • Strong computer skills
  • Proficiency in developing and utilizing spreadsheets
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability to implement and maintain budgets
  • Ability to manage detail and prioritize workload
  • Strong knowledge of best practices in research administration and current regulations
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborations
  • Ability to exercise discretion and tact
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to develop and manage interpersonal relationships
  • Report preparation skills


Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree; supplemented with at least 2 years’ experience working with sponsored research administration in an academic setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Salary/Benefits


  • $60-65k plus benefits including vacation and sick leave, health/dental/vision/life insurance, 403B retirement savings plan and match, tuition remission, employee assistance program, and wellness program.
