What we are looking for…
We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Portfolio Management Associate to join our growing Investment Management Group. This role will be focused on maximizing the performance and leading the reporting of current and future funds.
Responsibilities:
- Maximize performance of current and future Joint Ventures.
- Work with Legal on regulatory filings and unexpected issues or concerns.
- Adhere to compliance requirements and identify and communicate risks.
- Identify and implement software systems that automate portfolio management.
- Understand the Joint Venture Agreement and other key legal documents as they relate to each portfolio.
- Lead new joint ventures in conjunction with colleagues and advisors.
- Benchmark performance to original underwriting, budget, MH sector, and CRE industry.
- Lead reporting, including monthly and quarterly investor packages and ad hoc requests.
- Manage and improve strategic relationships with institutional real estate investment firms.
- Propose portfolio strategies; offer expertise on investments, budgets, operations, etc.
- Understand Joint Venture (JV) partner goals and expectations; serve as their internal advocate.
- Assist Treasury with forecast of cash sources and uses including capital calls and distributions.
- Consider implications of acquisitions, dispositions, debt financing, and investment in cap-ex on portfolio performance.
- Support refinancing efforts.
- Lead dispositions, in collaboration with Asset Management and Acquisitions.
- Create and update portfolio level budget based on asset-level budget and JV considerations.
Education / Requirements:
- MBA or CFA a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail, thoroughness, and organization skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field with substantive and relevant work experience in finance and/or real estate.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Proficient in financial analysis and financial modeling.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Team player, self-motivated and strong work ethic.
- Ability to prioritize and manage time to consistently meet deadlines.
- Communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external parties to meet deadlines and resolve issues.
