Director of Supply & Portfolio Management
True Power is seeking a Director of Supply & Portfolio Management with experience in ERCOT retail energy to add to our team of experienced retail energy professionals. If interested in this position, please email your resume to [email protected].

True Power's vision, beyond simply allowing delivery of power to homes and businesses, is to provide customers with the personal touch of a small business. More so, our goal is to become a TRUE partner in how customers consume power by offering competitive products and pricing.
Position Description
The Director of Supply and Portfolio Management will be responsible for the supply functions of the company including hedging strategies, pricing inputs and settlement analysis.A successful candidate must have a thorough understanding of the ERCOT power market and be able to effectively model and communicate scenarios to management.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Interact with both commercial and residential sales teams to ensure the balance between risk, sales and margin and communicate increases or decreases in prices
- Maintain good relationships with outside vendors/partners to understand risk associated with supply
- Ad hoc analysis as requested
- Perform lookback analysis using settlement data and effectively communicate where higher or lower margin is achieved
- Build and maintain models for portfolio risk analysis and suggest strategies within the company Risk Management Policies
- Manage pricing models and update as market variables/volatility changes
- Oversee daily scheduling with ISO
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in math, business, finance or related field required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in retail energy supply
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (SQL a plus)
- Advanced quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and provide strong pushback when needed
- Deep understanding of the cost components of deregulated electric markets (ERCOT, PJM, etc.), including capacity, transmission, ancillary services, and losses
- Ability to communicate effectively at various levels
- Able to manage multiple diverse tasks simultaneously and prioritize
