Description:

Serves as a liaison between the patient and health care team. Resolves patient needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies. Serves as a clinical resource for educational initiatives. Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support to patients and caregivers.

Ability to observe, record, and communicate pertinent information to the providers. Responsible for messages received regarding medication refills, triage of sick patient and medications requiring prior authorization. For the medication refills the nurse is to follow medication refill protocol.

Anticipates actual or potential problems, reports potential liabilities/risk management issues to the providers.

Assesses patient/family’s knowledge deficit for teaching opportunities. Includes cultural considerations when assessing appropriate method for care management.

Demonstrates appropriate technical skills in venipuncture and point of care testing. Assists providers with procedures/treatments as requested, or delegates to associates appropriately. Follows safe patient handling practices described by OSHA, and the ANA and as delineated in BHSF policy.

Qualifications:

AA Associates Degree required. BLS Basic Life Support required. Bilingual preferred. No expereince required.
